Thanks to
Mary Nix for interviewing me for Home Education Magazine’s September-October 2010 issue.
Mary and HEM gave me a great opportunity to explain the work of The Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers (VaHomeschoolers), including promoting the 2011 Conference and Resource Fair set for March 25-26, 2011 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, near Richmond.
Speaking at conferences and meetings about family life and home education is one of my passions, and Mary provided me with a chance to tell why I enjoy speaking at conferences and tell about the philosophy that frames my talks.
I also got to tell about the content and production of VaHomeschoolers Voice, made possible by the amazing work of volunteer editors, administrators, designers, photographers, and writers.
In the interest of full disclosure: I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work as an editor for HEM for several years. No other magazine has done as much to promote and protect homeschooling for all homeschoolers, and I’m grateful for the information and inspiration HEM has provided over the years.
