This week I finally got around to blogging about speaking at the VaHomeschoolers conference that took place in March, so I thought just for the sake of preserving family history, I should also mention the VaHomeschoolers Talent Show.
Nick has participated for quite a few years, usually playing guitar and singing.
This year, he played and sang a cover of “Under the Bridge.” The video on youtube.com is here.
It has been fun watching some of the same kids perform year after year at the VaHomeschoolers conference, mastering their instruments, voices, and bodies, as they have performed for their supportive, enthusiastic conference audience.
We are also treated to kids of all ages who try something new and delight us with their dance, gymnastics, martial arts, dramatic readings, or musical talent. Sometimes whole families get in on the act, with moms and dads adding harmony or an accompaniment.
And even though the Talent Show is enough fun all on its own, VaHomeschoolers adds a Friday night ice cream social to top it all off. In 2013, the ice cream social was a Twentieth Anniversary Celebration for The Organization of VaHomeschoolers, aka VaHomeschoolers.
We all seem to have a talent for eating frozen treats.
